Acceptable Use Policy

Permitted Use
TraceWaves is designed and licensed for:
- Authorized wireless security assessments
- Defensive analysis of networks you own or are authorized to test
- Personal device and network troubleshooting
- Site surveys and inventory documentation
- Travel and public Wi-Fi safety evaluation (passive observation only)
- Academic and research use
Prohibited Use
You must NOT use TraceWaves for:
- Unauthorized network access or reconnaissance
- Bypassing, defeating, or evading network access controls
- Circumventing captive portals without authorization
- Tracking individuals without their knowledge or consent
- Any activity that violates local computer fraud or network access laws (CFAA, Computer Misuse Act, etc.)
MAC Randomization
The privacy-preserving MAC address feature uses OS-level randomization to reduce passive device tracking. It is not a mechanism to evade network bans or access controls.
CVE & Vulnerability Data
All CVE and vulnerability data is advisory intelligence based on observable fingerprinting. It is not definitive proof of vulnerability. Match confidence is always displayed. You are responsible for verification before remediation.
Acknowledgment
On first launch, you must acknowledge this policy before scanning features activate. This acknowledgment is logged with timestamp and app version.
Enforcement
Violation of this policy may result in account suspension or termination. We reserve the right to report suspected illegal activity to appropriate authorities.
